Home Assistant's own MCP server: the AI can see and control what you expose to it - lights, switches, climate, to-do lists - over your network, with a token you create. Nothing leaves your home; every action goes through your approve step.
"Add to Your Own AI" opens the app with this ready to add (the app must be installed). Or in the app: Add-ons › Tools › Home Assistant › Add. Then give it to an AI under Tools.
What it needs
The app checks these for you and installs what it can with one click; the links are the manual route.
- In Home Assistant, add the Model Context Protocol Server integration and choose what it may expose (Settings > Voice assistants > Assist); create a long-lived access token under your profile. The AI can act only on what you exposed.

The app asks for these when you add the tool. They stay on your computer - secrets encrypted - and go only to this tool.
